Freestanding steel framed telephone box, erected c.1950. Having domed roof and with bakelite lettered panels. Glazed side panels with raised moulding to sides (north-west and south-east). Panelled to rear (south-west) elevation. Square-headed door opening with replacement timber glazed door.
An increasingly rare example of a public phone box that was once common throughout the country. The design is the Kiosk 6, created by George Gilbert Scott, was in production from 1935 to 1960 and shows influences of the Art Deco period.
