Entrance gateway, built c.1810, as entrance to Lotabeg. Comprising freestanding square-headed pedestrian entrances flanking vehicular access. Limestone square-profile piers with raised plinths, incised panels and stepped caps supporting fascia and cornice with parapet above. Wrought-iron pedestrian gates. Located to south-west of house.
These impressive cut stone gateways mark the entrance to the former house, located on an elevated site further along the avenue. The pedestrian gates are an early surviving example of decorative wrought-iron work and display a high level of craftsmanship which can also be seen in the railings at the main house.
