Triple-arch road bridge over River Blackwater, built c. 1810. Coursed lightly dressed sandstone and limestone walls terminating in rectangular-plan ashlar limestone piers. Cut limestone string course above arches and cut limestone copings to parapet walls. Tooled margined blocks to piers. Dressed limestone voussoirs to segmental arches, having half-domed limestone U-cutwaters to upstream elevation. Stone reinforcement to embankment and weir to downstream.
This bridge is of solid lightly dressed stone construction, with finely executed stone details, the dressings to which were applied by skilled craftsmen. This bridge is a testament to the craftsmanship and engineering of its time.
