Appraisal

This bridge is one of a group of related structures associated with Rathduff railway station which includes a corrugated-iron goods shed located to the immediate south-east of the bridge. Its form and materials are characteristic of railway bridges of its time. The large blocks and rock faced rustication adds to the solid and imposing façades of the bridge which continues to be used as the main Cork to Dublin line passes beneath.
