Freestanding single-span former railway bridge, built c.1865, formerly carrying road over disused railway line. Segmental-headed arch with margined rock faced voussoirs. Dressed limestone spandrels, surmounted by rebuilt parapet wall.
As part of the Great Southern railway line this bridge once formed part of an important transport link to west Cork. Set south-west of the site of Ballincollig railway station, which opened on 12th May 1866, and closed completely on 1st December 1953, this bridge is a physical reminder of the extent of the railway network in the past. Though some sections have been replaced, it retains much of its high quality stone work.
