Quadrant entrance to Crookston House, built c.1770, comprising paired round-headed arches flanked by paired pilasters with carved entablature above. Double-leaf wrought-iron gates to central vehicular opening and single leaf wrought-iron pedestrian gates to arches. Curving rubble stone side walls with cut limestone capping, terminating in ashlar limestone square-plan gate piers.
An imposing and ornate entrance forming the entrance to Crookstown House. It is particularly well-designed and is an indicator of the scale and grandeur of the Crookstown estate in the past. The craftsmanship involved in the construction of this entrance is of the highest quality. It is an eye-catching roadside feature.
