Single-arch sandstone bridge, built c.1850, carrying railway over road. Currently disused. Dressed piers flanking segmental-arch with cut limestone voussoirs and impost course. Dressed sandstone to soffit. Dressed sandstone spandrels and parapets having dressed limestone coping stones, tooled limestone stringcourse to base of parapet.
This bridge is a fine example and important part of a group of related railway bridges in the area. Its form and materials are characteristic of railway bridges of its time, demonstrating excellent engineering and skilled masonry.
