Detached double-pile double-gable-fronted double-height boathouse, built 1822, with eleven-bay east and west elevations. Now disused. Mansard slate roofs with dressed limestone copings, rooflights and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls with dressed limestone quoins, plinth course and platbands. Square-headed openings with dressed limestone surrounds and keystones and timber casement windows. Square-headed openings to gables with dressed limestone surrounds, those to south infilled, those to north with timber doors. Square-headed openings to front and rear elevations with dressed limestone surrounds and metal doors. Slipway to south.
One of a pair of structures of similar design and detailing. Gable-fronted form typical of boathouses, imposing façade enlivened by well executed quoins and copings. Regular façade articulated by retention of timber casement windows and window surrounds, which add artistic interest. Contributes to the architectural and naval heritage of island.
