Detached nine-bay two-storey former warehouse, built 1822, with later gable-fronted pump house block to east elevation. Now disused. Hipped and pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves and cast-iron rainwater goods. Pitched artificial slate roof to east block with red brick eaves course. Rubble stone walls. Snecked walls to east block with red brick quoins. Square-headed openings with replacement windows and red brick block-and-start surrounds. Camber-headed openings to east block with fixed timber windows and pivoting overlight windows and red brick block-and-start surrounds. Elliptical-arched arches with red brick surrounds, carved limestone imposts and keystones and plinth blocks and timber and metal doors. Square-headed opening with metal doors. Segmental-arched opening to east block with red brick block-and-start surround and voussoirs and timber battened double-leaf doors. Gable-fronted oil store to east with pitched artificial slate roof. Rubble stone walls with dressed quoins and plinth course. Round-headed openings with dressed limestone surrounds having imposts and keystones and louvers. Round-headed door opening with dressed limestone surround, imposts and keystones, timber battened double-leaf doors and overlight.
Large and imposing structure forms notable feature on site. Forms a group with other stores and warehouses which form part of naval and architectural heritage of the island. Stone construction adds to imposing façade, as do large carriage arches. Red brick surrounds and stone imposts add variety of materials and texture to façade. Blocks to site add context and further enhance site.
