Appraisal

Imposing triumphal arch presenting a grand entranceway on the approach avenue to Trabolgan House. Edmond Roche Esq., Lord Fermoy, began construction of the 600 acre Trabolgan demesne in 1700. It remained the seat of the Roche family until 1880 and prominent features in the area, including Roche's Point, recall their presence here. The survival of these demesne structures adds significantly to the architectural heritage of the area.
