Freestanding ten-arch rubble stone road bridge, built c.1760, spanning the Bandon River. Round-headed arches having dressed limestone voussoirs and soffits, springing from dressed limestone piers having V-cutwaters to west elevation. Rubble stone spandrels and parapet walls over cut limestone string course with solider limestone coping. Rendered walls to two northern arches of west elevation.
This is an expertly crafted bridge elegantly spanning the Bandon River, located just outside Ballineen village. Its rural setting compliments its already strong aesthetic appeal. It remains in excellent condition and is a testament to the skill of the masons and craftsmen involved in its construction.
