Detached two-bay single-storey with dormer attic gate lodge, built c.1800, now disused. Hipped slate roof having rendered chimneystack and uPVC rainwater goods. Rubble limestone walls. Square- and round-headed window openings with limestone voussoirs and replacement timber casement windows. Round-headed door opening with limestone voussoirs to front (south-east) elevation, having partially rendered limestone stepped approach and replacement timber battened door.
A small-scale gate lodge, formerly at the rear entrance to Britfieldstown, retaining much of its historic character and charm. The high level of craftsmanship involved in its construction remains evident in the stonework and opening voussoirs. Together with the walled garden and outbuildings, it is a reminder of the scale and prosperity of the former demesne.
