Detached three-bay two-storey farm house, built c.1920, with later porch and two-bay two-storey extension to rear (north). Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted rendered walls. Square-headed openings with one-over-one timber sliding sash windows and concrete sills. Square-headed door opening with replacement uPVC door. Outbuilding to west. Enclosed by rubble stone walls and gate.
The form of this building is in keeping with the style of Congested Districts Board houses, which constructed houses from 1891-1923, in an attempt to improve living standards throughout Ireland. It was subsequently absorbed into the Land Commission, which continued much of its work. With sympathetic additions, it retains much of its original character, having a centrally-located door and symmetrical fenestration. It makes a positive architectural contribution to the local rural landscape.
