End-of-terraced gable-fronted single-bay single-storey with dormer attic former worker's house, dated 1815, having gable-fronted breakfront bays to sides (west, east) and recent extension to side (east). Formerly in use as school, now in use as private house. Pitched slate roof with timber eaves brackets, having square and diagonally set red brick chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rubble limestone walls with dressed limestone quoins. Square-headed window openings with stone sills throughout, having brick block-and-start surrounds with uPVC casement windows. Square-headed door opening with render and brick block-and-start surround and voussoirs, having timber battened door with overlight and side panel. Former entrance to Coolmore House located to rear (south), comprising rubble limestone walls, square-profile gate piers with moulded limestone caps and decorative carved swag panels. Shared rubble limestone enclosing wall to front having limestone coping, stile and replacement pedestrian gate and V-profile stile.
Designed by Thomas Cundy, this former estate worker's house is one of eight built in a picturesque group at the main entrance to Coolmore House. This group, along with other demesne buildings, is a reminder of the scale and wealth of the demesne in the past. This building was formerly used as a school. The slate roofs, delightful chimneystacks, quarry glazed windows and timber battened doors are among the many original features which add to the group's character.
