Description

Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1725, originally thatched. Renovated and extended, c. 1800, with two-bay single-storey rubble stone-built wing added at right angles to north-east, wing subsequently in use as jail, c. 1825. Pitched intersecting slate roofs with rubble stone gable chimneystack. Painted rendered walls with exposed rubble stone to rear and to north west wing. Stone sills and moulded render reveals to window openings, with tripartite windows at ground floor and timber multiple paned late nineteenth century sliding sash windows to first floor. Round-headed door opening with timber glazed and panelled door having spoked timber fanlight above. Retaining interior features. Detached three-bay single-storey outbuilding, built c. 1800, to south-west with corrugated-iron roof and two-bay single-storey lower range to north-west. Gateway, built c. 1800, to south comprising pair of stone piers with wrought-iron gates.
