Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, with cylindrical shaft having banding and foundry mark ‘B. Graham Waterford’ to neck, moulded spout with bucket grip, dome-shaped cap with ball finial, and curved pumping handle terminating in ball.
This water pump exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with an elegantly curved handle, banded shaft and finial. It is an interesting and notable feature on the streetscape and presents a reminder of a time before domestic running water.
