Appraisal

This is a fine country house with classical proportions, exhibited by the diminishing windows to the façade, and the well-designed and crafted pedimented portico to the entrance. The flight of steps and pavement and large cut-stone chimneystack emphasise the grandeur of the building. The house has been sympathetically maintained and retains its characteristic context, scale and form.
