Freestanding three-stage circular-plan castellated folly tower built c.1860, with wall to face terminated by round turret. Roughly-dressed rubble limestone walls with dressed limestone coping to crenellations and base to parapet. Round-headed openings with dressed limestone block-and-start surrounds.
Killoran tower is a fine example of folly structures built in Ireland. It forms a striking silhouette in the surrounding landscape. The tower forms part of an interesting group with Killoran House and outbuildings.
