Terraced two-bay three-storey house with dormer attic, c.1790, retaining some original fenestration. Extensively renovated, c.1990, to accommodate use as apartments. Hipped (shared) slate roof with clay ridge tiles, replacement square rooflight, c.1990, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Unpainted replacement cement rendered walls, c.1990. Square-headed window openings with stone sills. 6/6 timber sash windows with replacement uPVC casement windows, c.1990, to top floor. Segmental-headed door opening with replacement timber panelled door, c.1990, with side panel and overlight. Road fronted with concrete brick cobbled footpath to front.
An attractive, substantial house of balanced proportions that retains most of its original form, together with some important salient features and materials. However, the replacement render and some inappropriate replacement fittings to the openings have detracted somewhat from the overall appearance of the house. The house is an important component of the streetscape, and contributes to the historic character of William Street.
