Attached four-bay two-storey house, c.1790, originally detached on a corner site with single-bay single-storey return with dormer attic to north-west. Renovated, c.1890, with pubfront inserted to ground floor. Renovated and extended, c.1990, comprising single-bay single-storey flat-roofed parallel range to return. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stacks, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Pitched roof to return with replacement artificial slate, c.1990, decorative red clay ridge tiles, and rendered chimney stack. Flat bitumen felt roof to parallel range to return with timber eaves. Painted rendered, ruled and lined walls with rendered channelled piers. Painted roughcast walls to return and to parallel range. Square-headed widow openings with rendered sills, and replacement 1/1 timber sash windows, c.1890. Square-headed door opening with replacement glazed timber panelled door, c.1990. Rendered pubfront, c.1890, to ground floor with pilasters, replacement timber display windows, c.1990, replacement timber panelled double doors, c.1990, and rendered fascia over with decorative consoles, and moulded cornice. Road fronted on a corner site with concrete footpath to front.
This house is an attractive, middle-size range that occupies a prominent site in the centre of the village of Clonea. Composed of balanced proportions on a symmetrical plan the house incorporates a later pubfront, itself conforming to a symmetrical design and of artistic design merit. The house retains important salient features to the main block, and contributes to the historic character of the village.
