Semi-detached three-bay two-storey local authority house, c.1930, retaining original aspect. One of a pair. Pitched (shared) artificial slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Painted rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills (one missing), and 6/6 timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with rendered surround having moulded entablature over, and glazed tongue-and-groove timber panelled door. Set back from road in own grounds with forecourt having unpainted rendered boundary wall with wrought iron gate.
A well-proportioned, modest-scale house, built as one of a pair (with 22805010/WD-15-08-10) forming part of a larger group of sixteen houses (with 22805007 - 9, 12 – 18, 47 - 48/WD-15-08-07 - 09, 12 – 18, 47 - 48). Well maintained, the house presents an early aspect with important salient features and materials intact. The house, together with the remainder of the group, is of particular importance as a reminder of the emphasis placed on social houses following the establishment of the Independent State. The house forms an attractive feature on uniform appearance in the streetscape leading into the centre of Kilmacthomas.
