Description
Harbour pier, c.1810. Extensively reconstructed, c.1935, with mass-concrete. Mass-concrete walls probably over squared rubble stone construction with batter, and flight of steps to harbour.
Appraisal
This harbour pier is of considerable significance for its associations with the maritime industry in Passage East that has traditionally supported the economy of the locality. The construction of the pier in mass-concrete identifies the technical or engineering significance of the site. The pier presents a prominent and attractive landmark in the harbour area of Passage East.
