Freestanding single-bay single-storey part-submerged icehouse, c.1820. Now disused and derelict. Pitched rubble stone roof now overgrown. Random rubble stone wall. Square-headed door opening with fittings now missing. Interior with red brick Running bond barrel vault leading down to red brick Running bond-lined chamber. Sited in grounds shared with Gardenmorris House with overgrown grounds to site.
This icehouse, although now disused and in a dilapidated condition, is of importance as a reminder of the various ancillary structures necessary to maintain a large-scale land holding. The original purpose of the structure, together with the construction of the barrel vault and chamber, identifies the technical significance of the composition. The icehouse remains a picturesque feature of some Romantic quality in the grounds.
