End-of-terrace three-bay two-storey house with dormer attic, c.1850. Extensively renovated, c.2000. One of a terrace of three. Pitched (shared) roof with replacement artificial slate, c.2000, clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, replacement square rooflights, c.2000, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods, c.2000, on overhanging rendered eaves. Unpainted fine roughcast walls. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, and replacement uPVC casement windows, c.2000. Elliptical-headed door opening with timber panelled door, sidelights on timber panels, and spoked fanlight. Set back from line of road in own grounds with forecourt having unpainted fine roughcast boundary wall with unpainted rendered piers, and hoop iron gate.
An elegantly-proportioned middle-size house, built as one of a terrace of three houses (with 22816101, 196/WD-26-16-101, 196), which retains most of its original form and massing. However, the inappropriate replacement fittings and materials throughout have not had a positive impact on the external expression of the composition. Nevertheless, the house, together with the remainder in the terrace, forms an appealing feature in the streetscape of Turkey Road.
