Freestanding handball alley, c.1935. Unpainted mass-concrete walls with mass-concrete buttresses to north-west forming pair of subsidiary practice courts. Set back from road in shared grounds.
A structure of significance having been built as part of a nation-wide cultural identity movement instigated following the establishment of the Independent State. The handball alley is of some vernacular interest, being a building type indigenous to Ireland.
