Appraisal

An elegant feature in the landscape, this chimney is of particular importance as a reminder of the various ancillary works put in place to sustain a large-scale complex, such as the former convent in the grounds. The construction in red and yellow brick produces an attractive polychromatic visual effect, echoing the construction of a number of the buildings in the grounds (22830217, 321/WD-09-30-217, 321).
