Detached five-bay single-storey thatched cottage, c.1850, possibly originally three-bay single-storey. Extensively renovated, c.1950, with single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch added. Hipped roof with reed thatch having rope work to ridge, and rendered chimney stack. Flat felt roof to porch. Painted replacement rendered walls, c.1950, with slight batter. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, rendered surrounds, and replacement 1/1 timber sash windows, c.1950. Square-headed door opening with replacement tongue-and-groove timber panelled door, c.2000. Set in own grounds perpendicular to road with gravel forecourt, and side (south-west) elevation fronting on to road.
An appealing cottage that forms an important element of the vernacular heritage of County Waterford, as identified by the long, low massing, the batter to the walls, and a thatched roof. Well maintained, the cottage retains its original form and massing, together with important early salient features and materials, and contributes significantly to the historic character of the locality.
