Appraisal

This gateway to the Kilcornan House estate, is a notable feature on the approach to Clarinbridge from Gort. The piers of cut stone are a good example of the high quality of stone masonry practiced in the locality, and the wrought-iron railings are an attractive feature. Even though the gates are now missing, this gateway is an attractive landmark, and serves to convey to the passer-by the grandeur of the house contained within the grounds.
