Wall-mounted cast-iron letter box, erected c.1905, bearing royal insignia of Edward VII, and door recast c.1930 with insignia of Irish Free State. Set into rendered road boundary wall.

Appraisal

This roadside letter box continues to serve the locality after more than a century and is furthermore, with the insignia of both the British colonial regime and the Irish native state, a valuable historical document.
