Detached four-bay single-storey national school, built c.1890, having lower gabled porch to east end. Now part of garage. Pitched slate roof with cement-rendered chimneystacks to gable ends, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Cement-rendered walls, having inscribed limestone plaque to porch gable. Square-headed window openings with timber casement windows, six-over-six pane to main section and with six-pane window to porch.
This small national school is a typical example of the standard design of rural school building found in County Galway and has retained most of its historic fabric, including timber casement windows.
