Detached multiple-bay three-storey castle, built c.1740, comprising bawn wall and stable block. Now in ruins. Rendered chimneystacks, battlements and parapet. Rendered and rubble stone walls. Square-headed and round-headed openings.
Despite its ruinous condition, this castle still retains much of its early character and form. Built by the Geoghan family, the site is well defined by a distinctive bawn wall. The variety of facades and openings enlivens the structure. Its elevated siting, combined with its extent ensures that this building makes a positive architectural contribution to the heritage of the local landscape.
