Single-arch railway bridge, built c.1850, over now disused Athenry-Claremorris railway line. Walls of squared and snecked rubble, with hammer-finished cut-stone voussoirs to arch rings with draughted margin to outer elevations, and parapets having flat stone copings with chamfered outer edges. Random rubble walls to adjacent fields.
Though now spanning a disused line, this bridge was built by the Great Southern and Western Railway Company to carry the Athenry to Claremorris line which was closed to passengers in 1975. The bridge remains a typical example of mid-nineteenth-century railway engineering with pleasing symmetry and well detailed natural stone and remains important to the industrial heritage of the area.
