Description

Single span road bridge, built c.1860, over stream from Loch Inbhear Beag [Inverbeg Lough]. Dressed granite stone block piers and abutments with round-headed arch having voussoirs to south elevation. Square-head opening to north elevation with recent concrete lintel. Replacement parapet of irregular rubblework. Dry-stone road revetment abuts bridge to east and west.

Appraisal

Despite a bridge widening episode that resulted in its original northern elevation being obscured with recent materials, this well designed road bridge is visually pleasing from its southern aspect and continues to be an important feature of the landscape.
