Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800, having windbreak entrance under projection of main roof, and flat-roofed single-storey addition to length of rear elevation. Pitched reed thatched roof with raised scolloped ridge, and rendeed chimneystack. Whitewashed walls with skirting to front. Square-headed openings with replacement timber frames and glazed timber door. House fronted by small garden with low wall and wrought-iron pedestrian gate. Yard to rear.
This is a good example of the typical surviving vernacular house type of East Galway. Its thatched roof and relatively small openings, as well as the windbreak, are all traditional features to be found with this architectural mode.
