Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800, with attic to north end. Pitched thatched roof with shallow blocked ridge, and with crendered chimneystacks to gable ends. Whitewashed walls with limestone quoins exposed at north end of façade. Square-headed window and door openings with replacement timber fittings. Outbuildings attached to south gable, forming small forecourt to house.
This house has retained a thatched roof, low chimneystacks and the simple, small, openings typical of domestic vernacular architecture in Ireland. It is part of a group of thatched houses in the vernacular cluster of Cloonboo.
