Description

Six-arch limestone bridge, built c.1770, carrying road over Raford River. Round arches, rubble stone V-cutwaters to south elevation, with concrete additions. Rubble limestone walls, parapet walls and voussoirs. Parapet walls rebuilt.

Appraisal

This pleasant bridge adds incident to the landscape as well as conveying traffic over the Raford River. The rubble stone parapet walls and slight humpback add interest to the crossing and the structure is evidence of eighteenth-century craftsmanship and engineering.
