Detached three-bay single-storey vernacular house with loft, built c.1800, with flat-roof porch extension to front (south) elevation, and flat-roof extension to rear. Pitched water reed thatched roof with remains of raised ridge and having rendered stone and brick chimneystacks. Limewashed and painted rendered walls with raised concrete verges. Square-headed window openings with rendered stone sills and replacement timber windows. Square-headed door opening to east side of porch with timber glazed door.
This house is representative of the historic housing of the majority of the population of Connemara. Built in the vernacular tradition, it is an important feature in the local landscape and the retention of a thatched roof and of relatively small openings makes it an important and interesting part of the architectural heritage of the area.
