Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1800. Pitched thatched roof having decorativel scolloped ridge and low smooth rendered chimneystack. Painted smooth rendered walls. Square-headed window openings having painted stone sills with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening having replacement half-glazed timber panelled door. Outbuilding to west of yard to front of house having pitched corrugated-iron roof and limewashed smooth rendered walls. Wrought-iron pedestrian gate to front garden set in rendered boundary wall. Yard of outbuildings to east having rendered walls and corrugated-iron roofs, with corrugated-iron barn beyond.
A direct-entry thatched house, one of a significant number that survive in south-east Galway, although increasingly rare in the country. It retains the form and details typical of the type, contributing to its architectural and technical interest. Its siting is enhanced by the adjoining outbuildings.
