Single-arch limestone railway bridge, carrying road over Ennis Junction to Athenry railway line, built 1869. Snecked rock-faced rusticated limestone walls and piers, having recent rendered copings to rubble stone parapet walls. Ashlar soffit. Elliptical arch with rock-faced rusticated voussoirs. Slight batter to abutment walls.
This bridge forms part of a group of related structures along the Ennis to Athenry railway line, which connected the south of the country to the west. The limestone masonry was clearly executed by skilled craftsmen, and the contrasting ashlar and rock-faced stone add textural interest to the structure.
