Detached four-bay single-storey vernacular house with attic, built c.1800, having recent extension to rear (south). Pitched thatched roof with low rendered chimneystack. Painted roughcast rendered walls with painted render quoins and smooth rendered plinth. Square-headed window openings having painted rendered surrounds and painted stone sills with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows with ogee horns. Square-headed door opening having painted surround and replacement uPVC door.
This attractive vernacular house forms a noteworthy part of the district's architectural heritage enhanced by its characteristic low chimneystack and thatched roof. Such structures were once very common in Ireland but are becoming increasingly rare in the countryside today. The painted surrounds and quoins are an attractive and somewhat unusual feature.
