Dressed limestone sea wall having tooled capping, built c.1860, with paved ramp of stone slabs forming double boat slip.
This finely crafted sea wall and boat slip display a high degree of technical skill in their design and masonry construction at this small coastal fishing harbour. The fine detailing in the capping stones is clearly the work of skilled craftsmen. It is one of many coastal structures which form part of the scenic and historic interest of the South Galway region, indicative of the importance of fishing and seaweed harvesting in the past.
