Cast-iron water pump with fluted cylindrical shaft, spout and domed cap, with pointed finial and curved cow's tail handle, erected c.1900, with simple bucket grip to spout. Rubble limestone boundary wall to rear.
This is a good example of a cast-iron water pump dating to the early twentieth century. It exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with an elegantly curved handle and fluted shaft and upper section. Located near a prominent crossroads it once provided the village drinking water. It is located adjacent to the 'Lazy Wall' where people gathered following Sunday mass and other social events.
