Cast-iron water pump, made c.1900, with fluted cylindrical shaft, banded neck and domed cap, with pointed finial, and straight pumping handle. Set into concrete platform and bounded by cement rendered wall on three sides. Sited opposite church.
A good example of a cast-iron water pump dating to the early twentieth century. It exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with an elegantly curved handle and fluted upper section. Located near Killeen church and St Corban’s, it was once a place where people gathered to draw water. Unlike many pumps, it is still in working order.
