Description

Single-arch limestone bridge, built c.1840, carrying road over Coos River. Slightly overhanging tooled limestone parapets with rubble copings, tooled limestone piers, voussoirs and spandrels to segmental arch. Tooled limestone buttresses flanking arch. Crow's foot benchmark incised to bridge parapet.

Appraisal

This road bridge is well built in tooled and rubble limestone and is evidently the work of a skilled engineer and masons. The slightly overhanging parapets are an unusual detail.
