Detached four-bay three-storey bank, built 1901-4, with two-storey return to rear. Pitched roof hidden by stone parapet. Pitched slate roof to return. Façade with ashlar sandstone to ground floor and brick to upper floors. Brick string courses and stone sill courses to first and second floors. Rendered side elevations. Ashlar bankfront with round-headed arcade with display windows to ground floor and with fascia and pilasters. Replacement windows to upper storeys. Timber panelled door and fanlight, tiled entrance porch. Cut sandstone piers with wheelguards to west leading to rear of site. Bank fronts directly onto street.
The symmetrical design of this bank, articulated in sandstone and machine cut brick, makes this an architecturally-and technically-significant structure. The simple arcading and use of brick makes it unique within Mohill, thus distinguishing this public building. Not only is this attractive bank socially important, it contributes to the architectural heritage of the area.
