Detached single-cell Roman Catholic church, built in 1857 by Rev. John Rogan, with four-bay nave and slightly-projecting entrance bay with bellcote. Pitched slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods. Random coursed cut sandstone walls with eaves course and date plaque to front elevation. Pointed-arched lwindow openings with tooled sandstone surrounds and sills. Stained glass window to front elevation is dated 1954. Pointed-arched door opening with tooled sandstone surround. Graveyard with grave markers dating from the mid-nineteenth century to present. Site enclosed by modern concrete wall, timber fence and gates. Church refurbished c.1956.
The use of the richly coloured local sandstone in its construction enlivens this otherwise simply-designed church. Located next to the former Glenfarne Estate and outside the small village of Glenfarne, the church is set in a peaceful rural setting on a gentle hill surrounded by a well-maintained graveyard.
