Detached three-bay single-storey with attic former station master's house, built c.1870 as part of the Sligo, Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway, with four-bay goods shed attached to rear. Now in use a private dwelling. Pitched slate roofs with ashlar chimneystacks, cast-iron rainwater goods and crested ridge tiles to goods shed. Snecked limestone walls. Square-headed and segmental-headed window openings with rendered and rock-faced limestone surrounds, timber sash and uPVC windows and limestone sills. Segmental-headed door opening set in glazed entrance porch. Site enclosed by rubble stone wall and tooled stone gate piers. Loading bay to west of goods shed with tooled stone surround. Bullseye window to goods shed.
This former station master's house had a dual function as it also served as a good shed to the rear. The unusual combination of a station master's house and goods shed may possibly have been a practical solution to security problems at the station. This building is notable amongst the group of related railway structures as it retains many of its original features, original plan and appears today as it must have when it was a working station master's house.
