Description

Freestanding single-bay single-stage water tower, commissioned 1868[?]; extant 1895, on a square plan. Decommissioned, 1963. Now disused. Part ivy-covered tuck pointed "pulvinated" ashlar walls supporting overgrown cast-iron water tank. Set in unkempt grounds originally shared with Foxford Railway Station.

Appraisal

An overgrown water tower surviving as an interesting relic of the Foxford Railway Station complex following the demolition of the diagonally opposing railway station (built 1867-8; opened 1868; closed 1963).
