Single-arch railway bridge over lane, built 1893-4; opened 1894; extant 1897. Closed, 1934. Reopened, 1936. Closed, 1937. Now disused. Tuck pointed snecked rock faced limestone walls between tuck pointed snecked rock faced limestone battered abutment walls with lichen-covered rock faced cut-limestone coping. Single round arch with drag edged rock faced limestone ashlar voussoirs. Sited spanning lane with unkempt embankments to lane.
A bridge identified as an integral component of the late nineteenth-century civil engineering heritage of the outskirts of Newport on account of the connections with the extension of the Mayo Branch of the Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR) line (opened 1894) by the Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR) Company with the architectural value of the composition confirmed not only by the rock faced dressings demonstrating good quality workmanship, but also by the elegant "sweep" of the arch making a pleasing visual statement in the streetscape.
