Appraisal

A gateway reclaimed from the Bloomfield House estate making a pleasing visual statement in a rural village street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the architecturally-undistinguished Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception. NOTE: An identical gateway was similarly repurposed (1952) at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (1952) in Robeen (see 31311012).
